For those of you who have come to any of the recent intimate Baggsmen shows around Sydney you might have noticed a couple of new tunes slipped into the set. Tony and Lok have been working on the new record and have completed the first 5 tracks and have been incorporating some of these into the set. One of the songs is the Johnny Osborne classic Studio One reggae tune Truth and Rights. Rudy Jackson has put down an amazing vocal take and the boys can't wait till it drops... For more news on the new
album and gigs stay tuned...
Baggsmen have been taking a well-earned break from
touring and have been busy with an array of other distractions (check
out their diaries for the
sordid details). Sadly, Baggsmen said farewell to friend and talented collaborator Kieran Smythe (MC Kray) who passed away on 11 September. Rest in peace Kieran and thank you for blessing our music with your gift. Baggsmen will be returning to the studio very soon to begin
recording their third album which is is anticipated to be very special
indeed! In the meantime, if you haven't got yourself a copy of
Baggsmen's critically acclaimed Eleven Stages, it is available
in all good record stores on The Hive Label through Inertia
Distribution. And don’t forget to sign the guestbook! Baggsmen's video clip for Long Strong Diamond
where Jake Stone summons the beast within reminiscent of the
classic 80s flick "Teen Wolf" has received an amazing response being
added on high rotation to Channel V and MTV.
